“I feel delighted to release the unique publication based on the wonderful Chilika Lagoon and I am sure this will help the book lovers to know lot many unexplored information and tales about Chilika” mentioned Shri Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev, the visiting former King of Nepal.

He released the 108-page Odia book ‘Urmi Adhira Rupasi Chilika’, an anthology of facts about the largest coastal lagoon in India and the second largest coastal lagoon in the world written by Dipti Ranjan Martha and published by Pakshighar Publication on Wednesday at Bhubaneswar.

“Chilika has been too gracious to me always. I’ve been mesmerized with Chilika since my childhood and it’s a matter of concern for me forever. Here’s my sincere attempt to help people to know more about Chilika, what they know till date” said Dipti Ranjan Martha, the writer. The book will immensely help the tourists, researchers, historians and general mass to understand Chilika with all its attractions and elegant exquisiteness.

The King of Puri Gajapati Dibyasingha Dev along with the Queen Lilabati Pattamahadei, the founder of Pakshighara Publication Banoj Tripathy and other dignitaries were present in the occasion.

The inimitable pictorial presentation described the beauty and magnificence of Chilika with its untold history, the geo-political importance, places of tourist interests inside Chilika, ecosystem, flora and fauna, migratory birds who come from far northern part of Arctic region every year along with literary pieces by eminent poets and writers on the lagoon.
