Swosti Institute of Management and Social Studies (SIMSS) celebrated its fifth Annual Day titled Atithya. The event was organized by SIMSS at a city hotel to mark their fifth year and to celebrate the talent that they groom andf makew ready for the industry. The event was attended by host of dignitaries including Mr. Subroto Bagchi, Chairman, OSDA, Dr.(Mrs.)Mona Sharma, IAS, Principal Secretary, Tourism Dept.,Govt. of Odisha, Mr. J.K. Mohanty, CMD Swosti Group, Mr. Chiranjeev Mohanty, Director, Swosti Group, Board of Governors, Mrs. Aseema Panda, Principal, SIMSS along with a huge gathering of media, parents & students.

OSDA Chairperson Mr. Subroto Bagchi aptly pointed out that Hospitality was an industry of memories. “If you give a good memory to your clients, they will return back to you and recommend you to their friends” Mr. Bagchi opined.

Principal Secy. Tourism Dr. Mona Sharma noted that Hospitality and Tourism is an industry of the future as it contributes to more than 10% of the world’s GDP and the students have a bright prospect ahead of themselves if they work hard and realize their potential to succeed.

Mr. JK Mohanty, CMD Swosti group remarked “We conceptualized and set up SIMSS when we realized the acute shortage of trained individuals to cater to the needs of a futuristic industry like Hospitality, Travel and Tourism. We are proud that our students go on to train with four of our own Swosti group Hotels and thus gaining experience, they move on to work with reputed Hotel Chains, Airlines, Cruise liners and Tour Agencies also”

“During the last year we had a good number of admissions which made our family consisting of 140 no of students present excluding passing out of three batches and placed successfully in the industry. With the effort of our efficient staff and faculties we had a very good result for our students in the university exams.” said Ms. Aseema Panda, Principal SIMSS.

The ceremony was a lively one where students were awarded prizes and showcased their talent through cultural activities.
