Suravi Patnaik- Mission Impossible

The shot was taken last summer in June 2017 with 300 Kiwi Indians getting the opportunity to work alongside Tom Cruise.

New Zealand based Odia girl Suravi Patnaik featured alongside 300 extras in the blockbuster flick from the popular Mission Impossible series. The film that has currently grossed over 477m at the box office, returns with the popular cast Tom Cruise, Henry Cavill and Simon Pegg for its sixth installment with shooting locations spanning across several countries including Paris, UK, New Zealand and Norway.

The film’s shooting in New Zealand captured a Kashmiri village that forms part of the thrilling climax of the  film. The precise location of this Kashmiri setup was up on the hills of the Southern Alps in a small area called Rees Valley.

The shot was taken last summer in June 2017 with 300 Kiwi Indians getting the opportunity to work alongside a stellar starcast and experienced Cruise doing the dramatic helicopter chase stunts through the beautiful New Zealand landscape.

“It was an unbelievable experience working with Tom Cruise for a good length of 12 days that the scene was being shot”, says Suravi who was part of the background talent team. “Tom is an absolute gentleman on set who is always interested to mingle with everyone and would help out people to carve the best out of them”, she adds further.

Suravi, along with the other extras also received a memoir coin from Henry Cavill along with a thankyou letter. Cuttack-born Suravi is an IT consultant who moved to New Zealand a few years ago.
