The much awaited inaugural ceremony of the Make In Odisha Conclave 2018 ended with the ribbon cutting ceremony by CM with other foreign delegates accompanying him in the occasion.
The ribbon cutting ceremony energised the crowd when a robot adorned in Sambalpuri saree carry forward the ribbon cutting ceremony. The robot was prepared by Sak Robotics, a state based IT start-up. In his inaugural speech CM not only praised the IT start-up but also accolades the other young entrepreneurs for their achievements in the field of innovation and start up.
Daylong Event
The opening ceremony has also witnessed various events conducted throughout the day. The daylong event comprises of FICCI Steering Committee meeting the industrial official clubbed with other sports event and sight visits.The industrial summit started with 5KM coastal fun run from Konark temple to Ramchandi in which more than 200 participants took part. The participants include various government officials, business persons as well as students among others.
The Heritage walk enlightened the participants on the rich history of the state by showcasing the ancient and historically significant temples as Mukteswar temple, Parsureswara temple among others. Walk to Ekmara showcased the participants about the ancient Odisha and also the artistic temples of the temple city, Bhubaneswar.
The Industrial tycoons were also given a chance to play a Golf Tournament at Bhubaneswar Golf Club. The nine hole course golf club has witnessed 32 participants. Sports Minister Chandrasarathi Behera felicitated Dalbir Singh from Royal Hotels as best gross scorer. Shailendra Upadhaya from Bhubaneswar Club associated with the Bhubaneswar Club also representing EESPL was the winner of the game. Dilip Tirkey, former hockey legend was felicitated as the runner up.The participants were also taken to museum to witness the arts, tradition and culture of the state together with visit to Crafts Museum.
Evening Event
The Evening Inaugural ceremony opened with an Orchestra playing various instrumentals for the viewers. The Make In India instrumental opened the platform for inaugural session of Make In Odisha 2018 was Inaugurated. The opening ceremony was facilitated by a robot named as SHIR (Sak Robotics Hybrid Intelligent Robot). Later the focus area of the conclave was showcase on a dome shaped screen with mind blogging lighting effects, it not only added the value to the event but also depicted the strength of the state in all areas.
Chief Minster’s Speech
Welcoming the delegates Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that the state has set a vision 2025 for industrial development in 6 focus sectors. “I dedicate this Expo to these sons and daughters of our state, who are the force behind the rise of Odisha as an industrial prowess.” CM added. He also said the youth are the harbingers of the ‘I am Odisha’ campaign.
Naveen Patnaik concluded his speech narrating the achievements of the state by framing questions such as, who thought Odisha top the Smart City Challenge in the Country. Who thought Odisha will set global standards in disaster management, who thought Odisha will play major role in country’s food security and who thought that the state will be noticed for lifting maximum number of people above poverty.
