Odisha features potential opportunities for attracting the domestic and foreign tourist as well; hence concerted endeavour among the partners and key stakeholders of tourism sector will accelerate the pace of progress as opined by the experts in EKTTA’s Tourism Convention.
The event was held at Bhubaneswar on Saturday by ‘EKTTA’, the maiden conglomerate launched through coordinated efforts of private houses, tour operators and professionals connected with the tourism industry. In his welcome address, EKTTA’s President .Sanjay Mohanty appealed to the Govt and private operators to come together for implementing innovative ideas and harp upon providing improved facilities to the tourists.
EKTTA’s General Secretary Chandi Prasad Pattnaik said that tourism has created phenomenal possibilities in changing times. Hence combined steps to promote the sector will make Odisha one of the most sought after destination for the national and global visitors.
Gracing the occasion, Priyadarshi Mishra, MLA, Bhubaneswar (North), highlighted the progress of the state in the recent years that has created a new identity for Odisha across the globe in connection with tourism and allied avenues.
The subject experts gathered here also deliberated upon novel themes like ‘Man/Woman on the Spot’, ‘Tourism Theatre’ and ‘Ethics in Tourism’ among other relevant aspects.
The first panel discussion was anchored by senior journalist and Chief Editor of ‘OdishaLIVE’ Shri Nilambar Rath. In this panel the Nodal Officer of IITTM Sarat K Lenka, Joint Director of Odisha Tourism, Utpal K Pati, noted media person . Dillip Satapathy, Odissi Dance Exponent Padma Shri Aruna Mohanty and Senior Tourism Operator . Benjamin Simon contributed their viewpoints.
The second panel was moderated by Sanjay Mohanty, where former Superintending Archaeologist Jiban Pattnaik, Sampanna Media’s Editor Ravi Sharma, President of IATO Odisha Chapter Gagan Sarangi and senior scribe Jatindra Das deliberated upon major facets.
Vice President of ‘EKTTA’ Debashis Mishra stressed upon the strategic imperativeness of ethical transactions in tourism business by providing some current examples.
On this occasion the international tour operators and the private tourism organisations participating through B2B programme focused on their specialised services for the tourists. Discussion on ‘Digital Media Marketing’ for promotion of tourism industry was also held during the convention
