The Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat (EBSB) programme is a flagship programme by Govt. of India aimed at promoting sustained and structural connect between denizens of different regions of the country. IIT Bhubaneswar celebrated the 16th and last cultural event of the EBSB programme at the Institute on 31st March, 2019.

The events showcased the cultural diversity of the states of Andaman and Nicobar, Lakshadweep through light songs accompanied by folk dances, film dance, fashion show, playback singing with other activities. The musical performances by students were not restricted to participants from the paired states and this added more colour to the evening. The institute fully responded to the holistic endeavor to make it reality by successfully organizing all the sixteen events of cultural exchange in a span of the last one year to make the cause so vibrant. The programme was well attended by students, faculty members, staff, and the whole community of the Institute including spouses and children.

Addressing on the occasion, Prof. R.V. Raja Kumar who is the Director of IIT Bhubaneswar appraised that the EBSB initiative was conceptualized by none other than Shri Narendra Modi, Honourable Prime Minister of India and encouraging all centrally funded and other educational Institute of the country by MHRD. He further reiterated that IIT being an Institute of National Importance in the country having students, faculty and staff from diverse background, culture and region will further scale up and serve the objective of spirit behind EBSB by cultural exchange between the people in a spirited manner. I would like to make a special mention about the improvisation in the programme standards from the earlier ones to the recently concluded one being of high standards. I feel that the EBSB programme has also helped us to establish the cultural signature of the new institute and its campus, which I have been personally looking forward too, said Prof. R.V. Dr. R.R. Das and Dr. Manaswini Behera, the co-ordinators of the programs and all the participants in the event were given a token of appreciation for their participation by Prof. R.V. Rajakumar. The programme ended with a special vote of thanks and felicitation to Prof. R.V. Rajakumar, Director of IIT Bhubaneswar and Dr. R.K. Panda along with other faculty and staff members.
