  • Five MoUs Inked to scale up skill of youths
  • World Class Skill Development Centre in Mancheswar soon
  • Winners of Hackathon to be awarded on concluding day

In a bid to meet the increasing demand for the skill workers the state government has inked five MoUs with various stakeholders to offer skill training to the state youths during the seminar conducted in Odisha Conclave 2018.

The five MoUs comprises of an agreement with ITE Educational Services (ITEES) Singapore which will impart the technical and vocational training of international standards to the youth of the state.

The other four MoUs comprises the FICCI and Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) collaboration to strengthen the employers engagement program to promote robust ecosystem of training and recruitment, Schneider Electric India Foundation will collaborate to set up modern laboratories at Government it is at Cuttack, Yess Consultants, Tech Mahindra and Surgeforth Technoplogies Private Ltd are among other collaborations.

The state government will procure the 18 storied building in Mancheswar locality of the capital city to set up the world Skill Centre. IITEES, Singapore will offer technical expertise to train the youths in the centre,” a top government official said during media interaction in the largest Conclave of the state.

The World Skill Centre project will be executed in Hub and Spoke model where the world skill centre shall function as the hub and all 71 Government IIts will be its spokes.

The MoUs were signed in the Odisha Conclave 2018 during the second day of the mega event. “In order to explore a solution to the disruptive IT services the state government for the first time has conducted a thrity six hour ‘Smart Odisha Hackathon’ ,” an official said adding it witnessed more than 4,000 participants and the winners of the event will be felicitated on the concluding day of the event.

He also said “….there will be three prizes in each seven categories carrying cash prize of one lakh, seventy five thousand and fifty thousand denominations. There will be awards for the participants outside the state in two denominations as one lakh and seventy five thousand.”

A special prize will also be offered to the best solution in innovative sector and the cash awards of the winning team will increase by five per cent with girl participants on board.

All the awards will be given in the concluding ceremony of the mega event Odisha Conclave 2018. The largest Industrial Summit started on November 11 has seen more than Rs 2 lakh crore investment intentions in two days and is hopeful to bag more investment intentions in rest part of the event.
