Virat Kohli T20 Career

Kohli is the fastest amongst all to have achieved this milestone when you take into consideration the amount of innings played.

Indian skipper, Virat Kohli joins the four-man club of cricketers who have scored more than 2000 runs in twenty20 cricket. This prestigious club includes the likes of Kiwi legends Brendon Mccullum, opener Martin Guptill and Pakistani batsman Shoaib Malik. Out of the three, Shoaib Malik was the most recent to get over the line on July 1st during the Zimbabwe series at Harare.

Virat achieved this milestone when India beat England by 8 wickets in the first match of the 3 match T20 series at Old Trafford in Manchester. He scored 20 runs of 22 balls. He now stands at 2012 runs having played 60 matches. Martin Guptill sits at the top with 2271 runs in 75 matches, while retired Brendon Mccullum has made 2140 runs in 71 matches. Pakistani Veteran, Shoaib Malik has made 2039 runs in 100 matches.

The rate at which Virat is making runs is frightening. Year after year we see new records being broken by this man. By this pace, he might just break all of them in 4-5 years time and write his name in World Cricket history.
