Sastra University adjudged Champion

The 6th KIIT National Moot Court Competition concluded at KIIT Law School campus. 42 teams from across the country including National Law Universities and reputed Law Colleges participated in the competition. Justice Sanjib Banerjee, Calcutta High Court; Surjya Mishra, Advocate General of Odisha; Somasekhar Sundaresan, Advocate; Siddharth Dutta, Partner, Sardul Amarchand Mangal Das Law Firm were joined as judges of the final round of Moot Court.

6th KIIT Moot court concludes

The Law School of Sastra Deemed University, Chennai bagged the Champions Trophy with a cash prize of rupees one lakh. Biswas Bharadwaj of Sastra University Law College was adjourned as best student advocate and got rupees ten thousand cash prize. Rizvi Law College Mumbai and Christ University of Bangalore won the first and the second Runners Up prize with cash prize rupees fifty thousand and rupees twenty five thousand respectively.

Justice Debabrat Das, Judge Odisha High Court, Prof. Indrajit Dubey, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Intellectual Property Laws, IIT, Kharagpur; Dr. Sasmitarani Samanta, Registrar, KIIT Deemed University joined as Guest, while Prof. N. K. Chakraborty, Director, KIIT School of Law gave the welcome address in the valedictory ceremony.

The inaugural session on 28th September was addressed by renowned legal expert Prof. N.L. Mitra and Prof. H.K. Mohanty, VC, KIIT Deemed University. Every year KIIT School of Law organizes National Moot Court Competitions for the development of skill of advocacy among the law students. Moot court competition has become a culture and practice of law schools all over India.
