  • English Coffee Table Book on Epic Dhanu Yatra of Bargarh Released 
  • Four Budding Talents Honoured as ‘OdishaLIVE Youth Icon’

A spectacular coffee table book titled ‘Kansa Maharaja: The Hero of Bargarh Dhanu Yatra’ was released by OdishaLIVE , the premier digital web channel of Odisha. Gracing the occasion, leading media personalities have depicted that Media can be termed as the biggest stage for powerful portrayal of art and culture and also the largest medium for the conservation of our heritage.

The cultural diaspora of this vast sub-continent has been getting disseminated through various forms ranging from print media to television and the new agedigital and mobile media.

To mark this event, four aspiring talents from the young generation were honoured as ‘ OdishaLIVE Youth Icon’ for their contribution to art and culture. They are sculptor Nityanand Ojha, Hindustani Singer Aurosish Pani and two Odissi dancers Maheswari Pradhan and Arunima Acharya.

Joining as honoured guests in this colourful event held at Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre, noted journalists Shishir Bhatta Mishra and Dhrutikam Mohanty stressed on the role of mass media in promoting the cultural legacy. Eminent writer Hiranmayee Mishra presented a review of the book.

In his welcome address, the CEO and Chief Editor of Odisha Live,  Nilambar Rath  stressed on the humble attempt of OdishaLIVE in propagating and perpetuating the rich cultural legacy of Odia history and traditions. He also thanked the personalities associated with such an innovative effort.

The youth icons honoured on the occasion were felicitated by Former Ambassador, Abasar Beuria, Senior Scribe Basant Das, Hindustani Vocal Exponent, Chittaranjan Pani and front ranking poet and bureaucrat Pradeep Biswal. Director of OdishaLIVE Media Pranati Parida and columnist Bhaskar Parichha were present in the event anchored by Siddharth Mishra of OdishaLIVE.

The content writer Sharmilee Mohapatra, Designer Sudhakar Biswal and Research Associate Kemanta Sahoo and the sponsoring partners Nalco, OMC and Odisha Tourism were also felicitated in the event. The event concluded with an Odissi Dance performance by Ms Arunima Acharya.

The spectacular coffee table book captures the seven decade long journey of BargarhDhanuYatra, which will be of immense significance to non-Odia readers, tourists, journalists and researchers.
