The 13th Annual KIIT Convocation held on 11th November 2017 turned out to a gala affair. Honourable Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu graced the occasion as chief guest while Dr. S.C. Jamir, Governor of Odisha was present as the guest of honour.

The vice president heaped praises on KIIT University founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta for his novel initiative and wished him more success in the future. The Convocation ceremony witnessed the celebration of talent and knowledge across various disciplines and students of the university.

The most coveted award of the day the Founder’s Gold Medal was bagged by three brilliant students from B.Tech and M.Tech degrees in Computer Science and Civil Engineering respectively. They are Tathagata Bandyopadhyay, B. Tech, CSE for all round performance among all programmes, Priyanka Bera, M. Tech in Geotech (Civil) for securing highest CGPA among all Post Graduate programmes and Kuldeep Pandey, B. Tech, Civil for securing highest CGPA among all Under Graduate programmes.

The prestigious P.K. Bal Memorial Gold Award was conferred upon Siddhant Mohapatra for best all rounder in MBA programme, the Paradeep Phosphates Limited Gold Medal was awarded to Neha Pattnaik for best student of Marketing Specialization in the MBA programme and the Nanibala Memorial Gold Award was bestowed upon Akash Mishra for securing highest CGPA in the LLB programme.

The Chancellor’s Gold Medal was bagged by 18 meritorious students across disciplines as B.Tech, M.Tech, Business Administration, Law, Medicine among others.

Finally, the Vice-Chancellor’s Silver Medal was presented to 26 outstanding students in subjects such as B.Tech. , M.Tech., Law, Business Administration, Commerce, Social Service, Medicine, Fashion Technology, Anthropology and Microbiology among others.

A total of 4,817 students were awarded Bachelors, Masters, Dual degree and PhD degrees in presence of President KIIT & KISS Saswati Bal, Founder KIIT & KISS Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Chancellor-In-Charge of KIIT University Prof. Subrata Kumar Acharya , Vice Chancellor Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty and the Registrar Prof.  Sasmita Samanta.
