Make In Odisha (MIO) on its third day successfully bagged Rs 3,900 crore of investment intentions in IT& ESDM sectors, Reliance to spend major chunk of the Investment.
Make In Odisha on of the country’s leading investment summit has successfully bagged proposals of Rs 3,900 crore of investments in the state under the IT&ESDM sectors. The major part of the investments will be spent by Reliance which is estimated to be at Rs 3,000 crore and rest Rs 900 crore will be spent by other companies.
Out of the total sum the Reliance mooted to invest the major chunk at Rs 3,000 crore and the rest will be borne by the other companies. Rashmi Infotech propose to invest Rs 500 crore, Sak robotics to spend Rs 300 crore and other companies intents to invest however the total tally was estimated to be within Rs 4,000 crore for the IT and ESDM sector.
Foxconn International has not promised of any investments rather they will focus in Odisha for investments in near future, the top official said during the seminar in Make in Odisha Conclave 2018.
The state will also develop a Fabrication laboratory to be set up in the capital city at the cost of Rs12crore. It will be set up in sharing model with the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and the laboratory will be in the STPI Campus at Gotapatna.
“We have decided to spend Rs 1,000 crore from the annual budget to the development of IT sector. The fund will be spent in training and generating skill workers in IT sector in the state and building better infrastructure for the training,” Chandra Sarathi Behera Minister of Electronics and Information Technology said during the interaction He also said the state government is going to ink an MoU with Oracle India.
The academy will train the budding engineers on the programming and applications of Java and other technical languages and will help to boost the skill workers in IT sector.
“On IT side we are witnessing 15 per cent year on year growth and are looking exports of Rs 4,000 crore. The state has one of the lowest attrition rates in the country. We are also setting up a characterization laboratory and a fully capacitated incubator to facilitate start-ups in the state.
Rajesh Mishra president IESA said odisha supplies 5 per cent of the country’s engineers and is the home to 2.5 per cent of the start-ups in the country.
