Three day kalahandi dialogue concludes

The three day global development conclave Kalahandi Dialogue concluded at the Bhawanipatna OUAT campus. After three days of intensive dialogue on several significant development issues including that of agriculture, art, culture, climate change, women and youth empowerment, sustainable livelihood, access to justice and effective political participation etc, a Kalahandi Declaration with a ten point action plan was issued. The draft of the declaration was adopted in the plenary session giving a call for collaborative projects and investments in Kalahandi.

Prof. CM Khanda, the Dean of OUAT Bhawanipatna has committed to extend support to train young farmers in scientific and organic farming. There will be several collaborative camps throughout the year to reach out to the farmers and agripreneurs as well.

Prof Srikrishna Deva Rao, the Vice Chancellor of National Law University Odisha (NLUO), Cuttack has extended a proposal to support collaborative work in legal literacy training for the youth, public representatives and social activists. The Khadi and Village Industries Board Chairperson Tejeswar Paridahas extended collaborative support in creating rural entrepreneurship especially in the area of bee-keeping.

Three day kalahandi dialogue concludes-5

Sanjay Mishra of Sathi, Bhubaneswar has extended his offer to provide free sanitary napkin packs to 10,000 under-privileged women in next three years. Samarendra Sahu of Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (IED), MSME, Government of Odisha and Dr. Bijay Kumar Sahu of National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), Government of India have proposed to support entrepreneurship development and technology adoption respectively. Room2Read has committed five libraries in Kalahandi and Gyanesh Mishra has committed to build an Art school in Rampur.

Sujeet Kumar, the Founder Chairman offered the vote of thanks and shared his profound gratefulness towards the people of Kalahandi, to the beloved Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik and the ministers of Government of Odisha, public representatives of Kalahandi.
