A state level painting workshop and exhibition based on the theme of Mahatma Gandhi was held in Bargarh. It was organised at Gandhi Children’s Park by Gandhi Smruti Pathagar, Bargarh to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Gandhiji. The event was inaugurated by Debesh Acharya, MLA, Bargarh and Prashant Behera, former Chairman of Bargarh Municipality.
As many as 24 renowned painters had come from different parts of Odisha to participate in the workshop. A painting competition was also organised among students during this occasion. Many people had come to see the paintings of the artists.
The closing ceremony was held in the afternoon. Maharaj Kansa of Bargarh Dhanu Jatra graced the occasion along with Indramani Tripathy, Collector of Bargarh and Sureswar Satpathy, Secretary of Dhanu Jatra Mahotsav Committee. The artists were felicitated by Maharaj Kansa.
