OdishaLIVE the premier web channel of the country digitally released noted Odia singer Namrata Mohanty’s new album ‘Deepa Jale Deepa Libhe’.
The album is a collection of eight tracks written by Odia music legend Akshay Mohanty. The music of the album is rendered by popular Odia music director Om Prakash Mohanty “The songs are special because nobody has sung these songs earlier. I have noted these lyrics from Akshay Mohanty’s handwritten notebook” says Namrata Mohanty who sang all the songs.
“Doing justice to Akshay Mohanty’s lyric was a big challenge for us but we strived to do our best and with the blessing of Akshay Mohanty, the album turned out one of the best works by Namrata” expresses Om Praksh Mohanty who did the music and arrangement for the album.
“The album was released in 2010 and owing to the popularity of Akshay Mohanty we decided to digitally distribute the album for Akshay’s music lovers around the world. OdishaLIVE has endeavored to promote Odia artists and Odia culture from the beginning and this digital release is one in a series of digital global album distribution plan of OdishaLIVE network for taking Odia music to the global sphere” informs Nilambar Rath, Founder Editor and CEO OdishaLIVE.
“The album is special to me because Akshay Mohanty has left a huge musical legacy behind him and I got a chance to sing some of his unexplored gems. Initially people found it hard to grasp the lyrics because of their high quality but gradually people came to appreciate the feel of the songs” informs Namrata.
