In recent years Odisha is taking giant leaps towards the development of a vibrant and dynamic startup ecosystem in the state. Apart from the State Govt, lots of professional and management institutions along with corporate are taking keen interest in developing a pool of entrepreneurs to chase their dreams, live with their passion and build something new and innovative. This again created a new generation, who are no longer job seekers, but they are creating meaningful engagements for hundred others.
Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar under the mentorship of Xavier University is also ahead of such initiatives. The 3rd edition of Startup Weekend’17 powered by Google for Entrepreneurs at XUB is all set to start today evening as one of its kind starting point for all types of entrepreneurship. The ultimate mantra for the unique event is ‘Connect, Discover, Learn and Start’.
It’s a 54 hour long event where like-minded people collaborate to share ideas, form teams and build startups with immense support from eminent mentors, speakers and entrepreneurs. This event is a joint collaboration of X-Seed, the entrepreneurship cell of XUB, Techstars, OdishaLIVE, Print View, Curry Nation and CuttackPulse.
“The Startup Weekend is a global platform for all those people who want to bring a change in this society by their innovative ideas and dedication. I take lot of pride to be a part of such a cell. Mentors will be there till the end while we work on our ideas and it eventually becomes a great learning experience” mentioned Karunaditya Tripathy, Coordinator of X-seed.
“In just 54 hours, experience the highs, lows, fun and pressure that make up life at a startup. As we learn how to create a real company, we will meet the very best mentors, investors, co-founders and sponsors who are ready to help us get started” he added.
The event featured eminent entrepreneurs and leaders who are set to inspire and ignite the participants, who will talk about their journey and experiences. They are Prof. DV Ramana and Dr. Shridhar Dash from XIMB, Sibasish Mishra, Founder, Bookingjini, KC Mishra, Founder, eKutir, Debashish Mohapatra, CEO, Verve Consulting, Nilambar Rath, CEO, OdishaLIVE, Barada Prasad, National Entrepreneurship Network, Sujit Mohapatra, Founder, Bakul Foundation and Swagat Baral, Co-founder, Dew Drops Aquatic Systems.
The divisions of 54 hours @ 3 days are quite interesting. On the 1st day the theme is ‘Meet, Pitch and Team Up’. Similarly the theme for 2nd day is ‘Learn and Work’ as well as on 3rd day ‘Present and Choose’.
“The conclave is aimed at inspiring the future entrepreneurs to shape their ideas into successful startups and to make the participants aware of the opportunities as well as the challenges faced in entrepreneurship.
