The Information Technology (IT) industry has become one of the robust industries in India and also in whole world since last century. IT, more than any other industry or economic facet, has an increased productivity and daily life utility, particularly in the developed world, and therefore is a key driver of global economic growth. Economies of scale and insatiable demand from both consumers and enterprises characterize this rapidly growing sector, whether its hardware or software, became an integral part of nearly every major global industry.

Apart from the Govt. efforts, IT Association of Odisha (ITAO), a consortium of over 400 members of IT Industry from across the state is also committed for the sectoral growth. It constitutes more than 75% market share of Odisha’s IT business by uniting IT related people of the state, covering both professionals and business sector.

“Our objective is to provide a common platform for mobilizing the IT resources of the State and utilize the same for generating awareness and mass employment” mentioned Soubhagya Routray, President, ITAO.

“We are hosting the IT Conclave 2018 at Bhubaneswar on this 20th February. Our aim is to provide a platform for all stakeholders to meet and interact face to face and launch products with right customers, create awareness among the possible buyers by availing the scope for live demonstration of products/ services there” he added.

The unique and exclusive Conclave is focused on ‘Smart City Smart Link’, which is expected to boost the linkage between the major IT sector players and the Smart City Bhubaneswar Authority for a joint endeavour in future days.

Odisha based major Companies, various Depts. of Odisha Government, Research Institutes, Educational Institutions, Universities and IT majors are scheduled to join the Conclave. More than 200 buyers from the state are scheduled to be part of the Conclave to grasp the newest IT products from national and global IT Majors with innovative and creative ideas for the next generation IT business.

ITAO has planned to present Awards to the Best Performers from Govt, Corporate, PSUs, Distributors, SI Partners and Entrepreneurs during the event.

In Odisha, owing to the easy accessibility and the wide range of IT products available, the demand for IT services has increased substantially over the years. The IT sector here has emerged as a major source of both growth and employment. The Information and Communication Technology Policy-2014 by Odisha Govt. is again targeted to woo the investments in the IT and ESDM (Electronics System Design and Manufacturing) sector in a big way and aimed to make Odisha a favoured destination for the IT and ESDM industries, and Bhubaneswar a leading IT destination among Tier-II cities.
