Make in Odisha Conclave 2018 has able to garner investment proposals of Rs 2,750 crore in the health sector from various promoters.

Various sectors have mooted to bring cumulative investment proposals of Rs 2,750 crore in the state in health sector. The proposals were propelled in a seminar held in the Conclave 2018 based on the theme ‘universal healthcare in Odisha’.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Pratap jena said the proposed investments will be spend on partnership projects. Segregating the total count the official said the state is planning to set up digital dispensaries at backward part of the state at the cost of Rs 90 crore. The diagnostic & dialysis services will be see an investment of Rs 700 crore, whereas the expenditure on cardiac care and cancer care projects is estimated to be Rs 70 crore and Rs 600 crore respectively.

 Affordable Health Care

State Government has also witnessed the investments in health sector in PPP Model to enhance the health services in the state.

“We are also planning for affordable healthcare projects at 25 locations confined one to each district. It will cost at Rs 1,300 crore and there are also some proposals from the pharmaceuticals, equipment manufacturers which will leverage the total investments to Rs 2,750 crore in next two to three years,” Jena added.

Elaborating on the expenditure Jena said that the government has existing dialysis services at 26 locations but with the fresh investments the count will increase to 120 locations.

Setting up Hospitals

“Depending on the need of the locality we will set up 100 to 200 bedded cancer care hospital by partnering with Tata Trust,” he added.

He also reported that the state has improved in various parameters and is poised to improve it to better index in near future with the fresh investments and collaboration with private players.

“The inflow to the government hospitals has improved to 24 per cent as against the national average,” Jena added.
