The fifth edition of KIIT International Model United Nations Conference-2017 concluded on Sunday. Some 1800 delegates from the nation and across the border had participated. The theme of the Inaugural Session was ‘Rights of the Indigenous people’.
Eminent personalities including Sergio Arispe Barrientos, Ambassador Designate of Bolivia to India and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, eminent Indian film-maker and writer were the chief guest and guest of eminence on the inaugural session while, Punya Prasun Bajpai, eminent Journalist; Kamal Singh, Executive Director, UN Global Compact Network, India and R. S. Prasanna, acclaimed Indian Film Director were the guests of valedictory session.
Among others Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor; Prof. Ramababu Kodali, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Prof Sasmita Samanta, Registrar and Dr. Sucheta Priyabadini, Director, Students Services, KIIT University were present and spoke on the occasion. Aritra Mondol, Deputy Secretary General; Pratyush Malviya, Charg’e d’affaires were also present on the occasion. Prizes were distributed by esteemed guests to outstanding achievers in different categories of KIIT International MUN -2017.
As many as 18 international committees were formed and discussion on various global issues took place during three day MUN session. Student’s representatives from Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Berlin, Nepal and Geneva too participated in the KIIT international MUN.
