National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) the Navratna firm was able to be attracting major footfalls to its hi-tech pavilion at the Make in Odisha Conclave 2018, held in the Capital City, from November 11 to 15.

NALCO’s interactive and attractive hi-tech pavilion used the latest technologies including 3d holographic display, virtual reality (VR), touch screen, gesture driven interactive wall etc to showcase its production units, products, CSR activities and achievements among others.

The VR technology was an instant crowd puller that gave the visitors a unique and engrossing experience of virtually visiting the picturesque NALCO’s Panchpatmali Bauxite mines and other operating units at Angul and Damanjodi.

Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD, NALCO inaugurated the pavilion in presence of the Directors and senior officials of the company. Sharing his thoughts on this occasion, Chand said that with the emergence of the 4th Industrial Revolution, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Robotics and Augmented Reality. It would be the trend setters and NALCO is all set to lead this revolution.

The new technology will bring in substantial reduction in capital investments and Indian Industries needs to leverage it to remain globally competitive. NALCO is gearing up and all set to meet this challenge.

On the concluding Day of the conclave, the Company took an innovative approach of inviting students and youngsters to the pavilion to give a firsthand experience of the technology and know more about NALCO and its activities.

Besides, a large number of girl students (enrolled under the flagship CSR programme NALCO ki Ladli) also visited the pavilion and were presented with personal hygiene kits.
