Croatian cabinet wears national team’s football Jersey showing support for team after semi final win in FIFA World Cup 2018
After Croatia defeated England in the semi finals by 2-1 and booked their place in their first ever final, the island nation erupted with ecstasy. The entire nation’s dream had come true and everyone was in joyous mood. The celebration and support was extended by people in the Croatian Cabinet, as well.
Croatian Cabinet of ministers held a session where each and everyone wore the Croatian football team jersey to showcase their support and appreciation for the team that had crossed many hurdles.
Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic was in full praise of the national team after attending the semis and said that this was a fascinating success for Croatian sports and football. He said “It shows the strength of a country which is not big, but has a big heart and these boys who went a step further than the brilliant 1998 with (Miroslav) Ciro Blazevic”
Croatia’s President Kolinda- Grabar Kitarovic also wore the team’s jersey when she attended the quarter finals against hosts, Russia. Croatia played France in the Finals at Moscow and was seen as the underdogs. Though France won the game but Croats ended up winning a million hearts given that the world was rooting for the country with a thousand islands.
